Mary J. Hawkshaw, RN, BSN, CORLN

Mary J. Hawkshaw, RN, BSN, CORLN has been in association with PENTA since 1986.  She has served as secretary/treasurer of American Institute of Voice and Ear Research (AIVER) since 1988, and was named executive director of AIVER in January 2000.  She has also served on the Board of Directors of the Voice Foundation since 1990.  She is a graduate of Shadyside Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson College of Allied Health Sciences in Philadelphia.  Along with Dr. Sataloff, she has co-authored and published more than 100 articles and 4 textbooks.  She is currently Research Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine.  She has served on the Editorial Board of The Journal of Voice since its inception, The Journal of OHL-Head and Neck Nursing, and The Journal of Occupational Hearing Loss.  She has been an active member in the Society of Otolaryngologic Head and Neck Nurses (SOHN) since 1988.  She is recognized nationally and internationally for her extensive involvement in the subspecialty of Care of the Professional Voice.

Linda Marks, RN, EMT

Linda Marks, RN, EMT is a Registered Nurse who received her degree from Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in 1983.   She is also a certified First Responder.  Prior to joining our practice, Ms. Marks worked as a staff nurse, charge nurse, case manager, and home health care nurse.  In addition to clinical nursing, she is also active in our practice as a clinical research coordinator.


Stephanie Beard, Medical Assistant

Stephanie Beard earned her medical assistant degree in 1994 through the National Education Center of the Thompson Institute in Philadelphia. Stephanie completed her externship at the Nelson Medical Group in Philadelphia in 1994. She went on to work in a Primary Care Practice for 8 years as a Medical Assistant/Office Manager. She gained additional experience working as a Medical Assistant for Drexel University College of Medicine in the Department of Otolaryngology. In 2006, the department became Philadelphia Ear, Nose and Throat Associates under Robert T. Sataloff, MD, DMA. Stephanie continues to work as a Medical Assistant in the Department.
